This nonprofit organization exposes abuses against journalists worldwide,
from imprisonment to attack and even murder. The site features regional

Federal Trade
Commission: Freedom of Information Act
The official FOIA site, this gives a reporter or concerned individual
everything s/he needs to know about the right to information and how to
request information from the Federal Trade Commission.
Feminists for Free Expression
This anti-censorship organization's website features position papers on
several controversial free speech issues, as well as a substantial links
section and information on speakers and advisory board members.
The Freedom Forum
The Freedom Forum is an international foundation dedicated to freedom
of the press and freedom of speech. It operated the Newseum, a museum
dedicated to the making of the news and freedom of the press, and Freedom
Park, which features monuments to the pursuit of human freedom, including
suffrage banners, a copy of Dr. Martin Luther King's jail cell door, and
cobblestones from the Warsaw Ghetto.

This reference and research library is a service of the University of
Missouri School of Journalism that offers access to government documents
and information at the state, federal and local levels. Some information
is only accessible at the University itself, although much is available
online.

The Society of Professional Journalists maintains this site, with resources
for both journalists and the general public on access to government records
and freedom of information. Here you will find news on freedom of information,
freedom of the press, and the first amendment.
National Coalition
Against Censorship
A coalition of 50 national nonprofit organizations, the National Coalition
Against Censorship works to educate the public about censorship an the
importance of freedom of thought, inquiry, and expression. The site features
position papers, news items, and information on current special projects.
The Reporters' Committee
for Freedom of the Press
An organization that provides free legal counsel to reporters and news
organizations, the Reporters' Committee for Freedom of the Press originally
defended the confidentiality of news sources, and has since defended first
amendment rights in the Supreme Court. Check their site for recent amicus
briefs, information on ongoing cases, and other important information.
Student Press Law
Center
The only American legal assistance group that educates high school and
college journalists about the rights and responsibilities of the first
amendment, the Student Press Law Center offers free legal advice and information
and low-cost educational materials.
