The Associate Director of Online Fundraising & Advocacy will serve as project manager for all email communications & online campaigns. This staff member will be responsible for the strategic implementation and content of all national fundraising and advocacy campaigns
This position will be a key team member in the strategy for the organization's online communications, fundraising, advocacy and interactive programs. Working in conjunction with our online vendors and the Online Director this position will help to strategize the messaging of online communication to HRC members and supporters, work with stakeholders across all departments within the organization. The Associate Director must manage internal information in a highly professional manner, help frame issues for various web audiences, and help make decisions about on-line communication priorities. The person in this position will execute rapidly in the short-term while helping to develop HRC's online communications strategies for the long-term.
Position Responsibilities
-Help interpret organizational priorities and messaging ; serve as executive editor and facilitate copy approval for all online communications •Implement & ensure an integrated, online advocacy & e-fundraising strategy verifying accurate & consistent branding and messaging across all programs
-Use rigorous data analysis to systemize and prioritize the organization's online communications, with special emphasis on email response and conversion rates, and viral success; both local and national emails
-Facilitate the design, production and execution of advocacy and/or fundraising campaigns, list-building, and community-building tools and strategy
-Build & maintain a strong, engaged online list, including but not limited to e-appends, paid recruitment, viral campaigns, petition drives, online and offline grassroots advocacy, etc.
-Ensure the successful execution of all national email launches in conjunction with online vendors
-Oversee HRC's segmentation strategy for the online list;
-Maintain detailed knowledge of both HRC's program work and actively participating in all relevant meetings.
-Work closely with his or her staff and all stakeholders throughout the organization to promote strategies, messages & priorities through interactive technologies;
-Working closely with the Director of Direct Marketing, to develop, manage and monitor the online budget for both revenue and expenses;
-Work with vendors to create a master organizational strategic plan and schedule for online communications in the beginning of each fiscal year for the budget •Along with the Online Director, help manage all vendor-partner and consultant relationships and contractual obligations required to successfully execute a coordinated online communication program;
-Seek new opportunities and responsibilities as they arise
Position Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree. The professional must have 5 + years online experience, 2 - 5 years serving in a senior role with supervisory experience, as well as some financial accountability and a proven track record of organizational marketing successes.
-Technical and analytical experience with online CRM systems. Convio preferred.
-Experience with Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.
-Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with different personalities and balance sometimes competing internal constituencies.
-Experience managing graphic design and web development a plus. Excel and basic data manipulation skills also a plus.
