Wendy Matheny - Campus Program Coordinator
Wendy Matheny is a Fulbright scholar with a background in political science and international women's rights. Committed to learning about the economic and social justice issues surrounding the women's movement, Wendy has focused much of her energy at the grassroots level. As an undergraduate at Manchester College , Wendy organized campus voter registration, coordinated gender-focused activities like Take Back the Night, and served as a US student ambassador for ECHOPPE—a West African microloans association who grants small loans to impoverished women in Togo , Benin and Mali . After college, Wendy spent several months interning on Capitol Hill, then went on to study the role of women in European politics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles' Institute for European Studies.

duVergne Gaines, J.D. - West Coast Campus Director
duVergne Gaines graduated with honors and a J.D. from Loyola Law School. As a law student, Gaines received recognition for excellence in constitutional and first amendment law and was also a member of the prestigious Entertainment Law Review. Prior to law school, Gaines co-directed Rock for Choice for seven years, gained extensive experience as a campus field organizer both for the Iowa ERA Campaign and the National Clinic Access Project. Prior to directing the West Coast Campus Program she most recently headed Rock for Choice programming and organized western states for the March for Women’s Lives. |

Emily Kadar |

Emily Kadar is a graduate of Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, where she majored in history and politics with a minor in women's and gender studies. While at Brandeis, Emily wrote a senior honors thesis in history focusing on the leadership styles of black female organizers in the civil rights movement and received the Chris Lerman Prize for Essays on Extraordinary Women. An active member of FMLA through her entire career at Brandeis, Emily served as chapter president during her junior year.

Danielle Geong |

Danielle Geong graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from American University, in Washington, DC. There, she served as the Deputy Director of the Women's Initiative arm of the AU Student Government. As a legal intern with Lichtman, Trister and Ross, Danielle researched voter registration and assisted with corporate registration for advocacy organizations. She has also worked for the American University Multicultural Affairs office and interned with former California Assemblywoman Wilma Chan.

Patrice Guillory |

Patrice Guillory graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, with a B.A. in Comparative Women's Studies. She interned with CARE and CIFAL Atlanta/UN Institute for Training and Research, working to encourage women's participation in the political arena as it relates to international relations and development. She served as co-president of Spelman's Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance where she participated in the national “Be Bold, Be Brave” campaign to raise awareness around sexual violence against women of color and supported the launch of Bennett College's Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance (Greensboro, NC). Her areas of interest include the resurgence of formal black feminist/womanist activism and formal organizing, global/transnational movement-building, and international development.

Tania Stewart |

Tania Stewart graduated magna cum laude in 2007 with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Public Relations and Advertising from the University of South Carolina. In the midst of business and journalism classes, Tania’s true passion as an advocate for women’s empowerment and equality took root as president of the University’s Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance. Rewarding internships and volunteer experiences with several women’s non-profits cemented her commitment to organizing and educating others in becoming leaders for change. She is very proud to proclaim that this is what a feminist looks like!

Val Vilott |
|
Val Vilott graduated with honors from the George Washington University with a major in International Affairs, specializing in Latin America, and a minor in Women's Studies. She was an active member of the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance there, as well as being involved in several other campus activist organizations. During her junior year, Val studied abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico, and conducted field research on the nature of local women's organizations in the area. As a student, she also served as an intern with the Center for Health and Gender Equity and the Institute for Women's Policy Research.

Alexandra (Allie) McDonald graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in international development, a minor in Women's Studies and a commitment to working for women's equality worldwide. While studying at UCLA, Allie served on the FMLA Executive Board, organized an International Women's Week of Action against the Global Gag Rule, and served as the Director of Wellness for the Delta Gamma Sorority. She also volunteered as assistant director for Women and Youth Supporting Each Other Mentor Program where she developed sex education lesson plans for middle school girls. Before joining the FMF, Allie worked with the American Lung Association of California organizing for public health and improved air quality in Los Angeles.

Olivia Ortiz - West Coast Campus Organizer |

Olivia Ortiz graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in English Literature. During her undergraduate years, she worked with advanced high school students in a university setting as a program advisor for the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. She also advised a multicultural organization, the Fellowship for the Advancement of Cultural Education, in fundraising for a camp that serves adults and youth with disabilities. For a number of years, she served as an academic tutor in the University Writing Lab and was actively involved in the greater Dallas area through the League of United Latin American Citizens and the Feminist Majority Foundation. Olivia has also studied at Columbia University and London's Royal College and served as a panelist at the National Women's Studies Association's National Conference. She is a native Spanish-speaker and fluent in French.
